Sustainable fashion
We are spending more than we ever have on clothing, it is the new normal to expect several packages a week. While these deliveries give instant dopamine hits and can be the best part of our day.
Macquarie University students Zoe Palacios and Mitch Butta could not help but wonder how good these shopping habits really were for our bank accounts but, also, more importantly for the wider world.
Zoe and Mitch spoke to Pauline Roul from Sustain your Style about the negative impacts that fast fashion and excessive online shopping has on our environment, garment workers, and even our health. Pauline also gave our reporters the lowdown on how to best shop sustainably, with her biggest tip being to shop a little closer to home.
Zoe and Mitch also caught up with the owner of the Australian label Peachay Jeans, Bella Sen. As well as Tiana Schinella who finds most of her clothing at thrift shops, to answer the question of how we can enjoy fashion, without having a guilty conscience?
